Gifting Criteria - Norfolk Pros Foundation





The Norfolk Pros Foundation is dedicated to helping youth in our communities by working toward the relief of poverty and the advancement of education.

	Norfolk Geographic: Grants are for the benefit of recipients within the "old" county of Norfolk (Delhi, Langton, Port Dover, Waterford, Jarvis and Simcoe).
	Lasting in Nature: To date, some of our major projects have primarily included equipment and structure donations. We do not make operating grants with the exception of minor donations to charitable organizations which assist us with the organization of our annual tournament. Monetary grants to charitable organizations may be of a lump sum of up to $1,000, or to an annual limit of $5,000.
	Direct gifting: We avoid grants which will in turn form the basis of grants from receiving organizations. For example, we do not grant to the United Way, Christmas gifting groups or scholarship funds.
	Seed Money: We occasionally assist new organizations with funding to "get them off the ground" with preference given to tangible or physical projects.
	Foundation Recognition: Our foundation is relatively new and has a fairly low profile. With each grant, we wish to enhance our profile through branding within the project. This might include direct identification with the Norfolk Pros or naming rights or the application of our logo to purchased products.
	Timeline for completion: It is preferred that projects be completed within one year from the advancement of the funds.
	Age categories: Projects involved with children/youth shall receive preference.
	Group Size: Projects involving groups shall receive preference over individual interests.
	Form of substance: Requests must be provided in writing to any Foundation Director. All requests will be considered and replied to within 60 days. In certain cases, a representative of the requesting organization may be asked to make a presentation.
